Challenge
A Skyward mission partner encountered major challenges in adopting Kubernetes due to its complexity. Operators needed to deploy and operate systems efficiently, but Kubernetes required deep technical knowledge and navigation of a vast, often overwhelming tool ecosystem. Even basic changes involved memorizing long, intricate commands. This complexity slowed operations and increased the risk of error.
Solution
Skyward developed a purpose-built Kubernetes automation tool to support Day 1 and Day 2 deployments without requiring deep platform expertise. It simplifies and automates repetitive tasks to reduce error-prone copy/paste methods and allow global configuration updates. The tool gives operators a clear, intuitive path to manage K8s securely and efficiently; dramatically reducing cognitive load and accelerating delivery in mission critical environments.

Challenge
A Skyward mission partner needed a secure, efficient way to move data across air-gapped government systems to analyze cases faster without compromising mission security. Sneakernet, the transporting of physical media between computers rather than transmitting over a computer network has long been the DOD standard. However, it takes a vast amount of time for data to transfer between domains (sometimes days) and, as a manual process, is costly, prone to errors, and requires physical machines with dedicated users.
Solution
Skyward built SecureShare, a cross domain solution and data orchestration tool, that intelligently handles the cyber logistics. SecureShare determines the most suitable CDS for transferring data across security domains; streamlining what was traditionally a complex and rigid process. By designing a unified interface that automates pre-processing tasks for multiple CDSs, SecureShare significantly improves the efficiency, adaptability, and security of cross-domain data movement. Challenge
A Skyward mission partner required specialized AWS expertise to support the rapid migration of existing cloud assets to a new and secure AWS GovCloud environment in less than two weeks. This situation underscored the potential risks and disruptions associated with relying on a single contractor for critical infrastructure and the importance of maintaining flexibility and contingency plans in government contracting.
Solution
Skyward deployed a custom-architected, governed platform that successfully migrating an entire risk-management information system within the stringent timeline. Skyward gained access to the incumbent’s AWS cloud instance and provided expert guidance to identify and document key technology, operations, and security requirements needed to complete the mission. The result was a fully functional, performance-tuned, containerized, scalable, and cost-efficient solution, complete with strong end-user security and validated against clearly defined success criteria.

Challenge
A Skyward mission partner sought to strengthen mission support during Afghanistan evacuation operations in 2021 and faced the challenge of executing a coordinated, hybrid deployment of critical systems within a tight timeframe. This included standing up a primary Tactical Awareness Kit (TAK) and Watchtower servers in a cloud environment. Skyward provided a dedicated technical lead to serve as the single point of contact, guiding execution and ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.
Solution
Skyward provided comprehensive cloud and connectivity support for the Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) by deploying and maintaining TAK servers within an AWS GovCloud environment. This effort enabled TAK functionality across five bases and Pacific air operations, ensuring secure, real-time situational awareness for deployed forces. Additionally, Skyward supported their situational awareness and decision-support tool across the continental United States, enhancing mission coordination and operational effectiveness for defenders nationwide.
